Most yogurt is very high in carbohydrates, and thus, is not encouraged.

Some carbohydrates that have relatively high protein content may be used in small amounts. High-fiber grains

We encourage foods such as ham and eggs, lean beef - filet mignon, pork tenderloin, Canadian bacon, lean bacon, non-fat cheese.

For all individuals who exceed ideal body weight by more than 20 pounds, we do recommend a dietary restriction emphasizing a minimization of carbohydrates and alcohol with relatively low-fat high-protein intake. We recommend taking in at least 80% of the total daily caloric intake before 7:00 p.m. with breakfast accounting for 50% of total, lunch greater than 30%, and dinner less than 20% of total caloric intake for the day. (In other words, eat less for lunch than you do for breakfast, and less for supper than you do for lunch.)

Avoid all oral agents for diabetes and insulin therapy whenever possible.

We believe one of the major healthcare problems in America is that of protein deficiency, which results in fluid retention, edema, ascites, and pleural effusion which occur secondary to oncotic pressure - which can be assured only by maintenance of an adequate Albumin level.

Remember - an active exercise program is very effective in reducing carbohydrate overload.
